Kashmir is located on the picturesque banks of the mighty Jhelum River in north India. It’s mostly cold here but summers can be mildly warm. Kashmir is also dubbed as a Paradise on Earth. Its beauty seems to be very captivating and photogenic in every season. In summer there is greenery everywhere and in winter everything is covered with snow. The red apples hanging on the apple trees look extremely tasty and beautiful. There are many tourist places to see in Kashmir like Gulmarg, Sonmarg, etc. Gulmarg is also dubbed as the life of Kashmir. Sarovar like Vullar adds to the beauty of Kashmir.

The people of Kashmir are called Kashmiri and they are very hospitable by nature. Saffron also known as “Kesar” in the local language is massively cultivated here. Any person who visits this place must make sure to buy souvenirs such as the Pashmina shawl or the Kashmir Willow Cricket Bat. On a sad note, Kashmir is also a matter of great dispute between India’s neighbour, Pakistan.

10. Leh district of Kashmir is the second largest district in India.
